Bible Question of the Day
The Latvian Bible Foundation and Latvian Christian Radio are implementing a joint project – the contest “BIBLE QUESTION OF THE DAY”..
Starting from 01.09.2025, it will take place every weekday morning on Latvian Christian Radio at 10:15. As part of the contest, listeners have the opportunity to answer a Bible-related question, and the fastest person to submit the correct answer will receive a free Bible from the Latvian Bible Foundation as a prize.
The project is implemented with the aim of emphasizing the importance of God's Word and creating interest in reading and studying the Bible. The project was launched on 01.09.2025.
GET FREE BIBLE (Project Resumed 03.06.2025)
The Latvian Bible Foundation has resumed the implementation of the project – GET FREE BIBLE.
As part of this project, we offer everyone interested to order their free Bible or New Testament to any Omniva parcel machine in Latvia, choosing from 27 different initially available Bibles and New Testaments in several languages. The order can be placed on the Latvian Bible Foundation website https://www.ebibele.lv/en/bibele-par-brivu/.
Distribution of Christian Calendars
The Latvian Bible Foundation in cooperation with a Christian organization that is based in Germany GBV Dillenburg GmbH and Latvian store chains “Skandināvs”, “Hopen”, “Tuvu”, “Labā Bode” and “Otrā Elpa” has implemented the project – DISTRIBUTION OF CHRISTIAN CALENDARS.
The goal of the project was to preach the Good News in this way and make the Word of God freely available to people for every day of the year!
In total 14,000 free Christian calendars were distributed through 23 stores! Project implementation period 27.11.2024 - 17.01.2025.
Bible for every Library
The Latvian Bible Foundation in cooperation with a Christian organization that is based in Germany GBV Dillenburg GmbH and Christian organization that is based in USA Eastern European Mission (EEM) implements the project – BIBLE FOR EVERY LIBRARY.
The project is implemented with the aim of providing free access to reading the Word of God for as many libraries of Latvia as possible, in Latvian and in other languages.
Within the framework of the project, we plan to donate Bibles to libraries in the territory of Latvia completely free of charge. The project was launched on 13.10.2024.
Lifebuoy Ring
The Latvian Bible Foundation in cooperation with Christian organizations that are based in Germany GBV Dillenburg GmbH and Missionswerk Bruderhand, and Christian organization that is based in USA Eastern European Mission (EEM) implements the project – LIFEBUOY RING.
The project is implemented with the aim to promote and support evangelization and preaching the Word of God in Latvia.
Within the framework of the project, we offer all individuals who would like to preach and evangelize the opportunity to fill out the online application form here https://www.ebibele.lv/en/glabsanas-rinkis/ and receive Bibles, New Testaments and other Christian information materials in Latvian, English, in Russian and Ukrainian languages for this meaningful God's Work. The project was launched on 01.10.2024.
Get free Bible
The Latvian Bible Foundation in cooperation with the Latvian Bible Union has implemented the project – GET FREE BIBLE.
Within the framework of the project, by filling out an online application form, anyone who was interested could apply and receive a Bible for free at any Omniva or DPD parcel machine in the territory of Latvia.
Exactly 330 years ago, the printing of the 1694 edition of the first Latvian Bible translated by Ernst Glik was completed. The first edition of the Latvian Bible was printed and published in a large circulation of 1,500 copies.
In honor of God, Ernst Glik and this very significant event in the history of Latvia, the Latvian Bible Foundation has distributed 1,500 copies of the newly published and printed 8th edition of the Bible translated by E. Glik in modern Latvian language. 1,500 Bibles were distributed in 3 months period (06.2024 - 09.2024) to the citizens of Latvia completely free of charge. The project was concluded on 16.09.2024.
Digitalization of the first Latvian Bible text
The Latvian Bible Foundation has implemented a project – DIGITALIZATION OF THE FIRST LATVIAN BIBLE TEXT. Within the framework of this project Ernst Glik's first edition Latvian Bible text that was originally published in 1694 has been digitized in the old original text print (appearance). This text is now freely available for reading, research and comparison at our online platform https://www.ebibele.lv/#/p/lvgluck1/Genesis/1 to anyone who is interested. The project was implemented on 22.08.2024.
Bible online in electronic format
The Bible search tool eBIBLE (https://www.ebibele.lv/en/) is a project implemented by the foundation Latvian Bible Foundation, which, in accordance with our established goals, provides free online access to Christian Bible texts in Latvian language for anyone interested to open, read, search Bible books, chapters and verses in several editions, versions and translations of the Bibles that are opened in parallel.
The project has been implemented using available free and open-source software solutions and resources available to the Latvian Bible Foundation. The solution is developed and implemented as a Web-Based application (tool) called "Bible Search", which is freely available to all interested parties who have access to the Internet. The goal set by the Latvian Bible Foundation is to create and develop a software tool that has a wide functionality and is as convenient as possible for all users, efficient, understandable, intuitive and easy to use from any modern device that is designed to access and browse Internet, using most popular web browsers.
Within the scope of the project the following basic functionalities and usage options of the initial Bible Search tool are provided, which are still planned to be developed, improved and supplemented in the future.

- To open, read, compare Bible passages in parallel in several user-selected, available electronic, digitized editions, versions, translations of the Bible.
- To execute various types of searches by user-selected key words, defined conditions and selected parts of the Bible.
- To adapt the tool interface to the user's individual needs using various tool settings.
- To choose the interface language of the tool.
- To use bookmarks to save Bible openings and passages desired by the user.
- To create references to passages that can be shared with others, using direct links to Bible openings in the tool.
- Familiarize yourself with the user manual of the tool.
Within the framework of the project website https://www.ebibele.lv/en/ is developed and maintained where this solution is available for online use. This website is also expected to be supplemented by placing Bible related informational materials in the future.
Within the framework of the project, in the future it is expected to agree on the usage of the Bible texts with several copyright holders of the Bible editions and translations published in the Latvian language.
As part of the project, in the future it is planned to digitize several editions of the Latvian Bible, storing the textual data in a structured way. Access to this data would be provided through the graphical user interface (GUI) of the software Bible Search tool solution which is developed within the framework of this project. The eBIBLE platform developed as part of the project was opened for public use from 02.04.2024.
